AQVIA BATH TRADE TERMS

DPU Delivered at Place Unloaded

DPU, or Delivered at Place Unloaded, means Party A arranges transportation and delivers the goods to the named destination place after unloading. Party B is responsible for import customs clearance, import duties, taxes and local charges unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Party Definition

For this DPU trade term page, the parties are defined as follows:

Party A (Manufacturer / Seller) Aqvia Bath is Party A when supplying bathroom products. Party A prepares the goods, handles export clearance, arranges transportation and unloads the goods at the named destination place.
Party B (Buyer / Purchaser) Party B is the buyer, importer, distributor, dealer or project purchaser. Party B handles import clearance, import duties, taxes and destination-side customs requirements.

Responsibility Summary

Under DPU, Party A is responsible for delivering and unloading the goods at the named destination place. Party B is responsible for import-related procedures and costs after delivery.

Risk Transfer Bear risk until the goods are unloaded at the named destination place. Take risk after the goods are unloaded at the named destination place.
Import Clearance Not responsible for import clearance under standard DPU. Responsible for import clearance, duties, taxes and local customs fees.
Local Charges Not responsible for import-related local charges unless agreed in writing. Responsible for import-related local charges, customs fees and destination compliance costs.

Party A Responsibilities

DPU is the trade term where Party A is responsible for unloading at the named destination place. The unloading condition, equipment and site access should be confirmed before shipment.

Party B Responsibilities

Provide accurate destination address, contact person and receiving requirements.

Confirm that the destination place can safely receive and unload the goods.
✓
Handle import customs clearance and destination compliance requirements.
✓
Pay import duties, taxes, customs fees and import-related local charges.
✓
Take responsibility for the goods after unloading is completed at the named destination place.

When DPU Is Suitable

DPU is usually suitable when Party B wants Party A to arrange transportation and unloading at a named destination place, while Party B handles import clearance, duties, taxes and destination customs requirements.

If Party B does not need Party A to handle unloading, DAP may be more suitable. If Party B wants Party A to include import duties and taxes, DDP may be discussed depending on destination and order type.
