DDP Delivered Duty Paid

DDP, or Delivered Duty Paid, means Party A arranges delivery to the named destination and is responsible for export clearance, transportation, import clearance, import duties and taxes. Party B receives the goods at the agreed destination unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Party Definition

For this DDP trade term page, the parties are defined as follows:

Party A (Manufacturer / Seller) Aqvia Bath is Party A when supplying bathroom products. Party A prepares the goods, arranges export clearance, transportation, import clearance, duties and taxes when DDP is confirmed in writing.
Party B (Buyer / Purchaser) Party B is the buyer, importer, distributor, dealer or project purchaser. Party B provides accurate destination information and receives the goods at the named destination place.

Responsibility Summary

Under DDP, Party A takes the highest level of delivery responsibility among common trade terms. Party A usually handles transportation and import-related costs before delivery to the named destination.

Duties and Taxes Pay import duties, taxes and agreed customs-related charges under confirmed DDP terms. Not responsible for agreed import duties and taxes under confirmed DDP terms.
Delivery Point Deliver goods to the named destination place, ready for unloading unless otherwise agreed. Receive goods at the agreed destination place.
Unloading Not responsible for unloading unless agreed in writing. Responsible for unloading unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Party A Responsibilities

Arrange transportation to the named destination place confirmed in quotation or invoice.

DDP must be confirmed in writing before shipment. Party A can only offer DDP when the destination country, product type, customs process and logistics route allow this service.

Party B Responsibilities

Provide accurate destination address, contact person and receiving requirements.
✓
Provide required company, importer or tax information if needed for customs clearance.
✓
Confirm that the destination address can legally and safely receive the goods.
✓
Receive the goods at the named destination place.
✓
Arrange unloading unless unloading service is clearly included in the confirmed quotation.

When DDP Is Suitable

DDP is usually suitable when Party B wants a simpler purchasing process and wants Party A to handle transportation, import clearance, duties and taxes before delivery to the named destination.

DDP may not be available for every destination, product type or order quantity. If DDP is not suitable, DAP, CIF, CFR or FOB may be discussed depending on the shipment method and customs requirements.
