DAP Delivered at Place

DAP, or Delivered at Place, means Party A arranges transportation and delivers the goods to the named destination place. Party B is responsible for unloading, import customs clearance, import duties, taxes and local charges unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Party Definition

For this DAP trade term page, the parties are defined as follows:

Party A (Manufacturer / Seller) Aqvia Bath is Party A when supplying bathroom products. Party A prepares the goods, handles export clearance, arranges transportation and delivers goods to the named destination place.
Party B (Buyer / Purchaser) Party B is the buyer, importer, distributor, dealer or project purchaser. Party B handles unloading, import clearance, duties, taxes and destination-side local charges.

Responsibility Summary

Under DAP, Party A is responsible for delivering the goods to the named destination place. Party B is responsible for unloading and import-related costs after arrival.

Delivery Point Deliver goods to the named destination place, ready for unloading. Receive goods at the agreed destination place.
Unloading Not responsible for unloading unless agreed in writing. Responsible for unloading cost, unloading risk and unloading arrangement.
Import Clearance Not responsible for import clearance under standard DAP. Responsible for import clearance, duties, taxes and local customs fees.
Local Charges Not responsible for destination local charges unless agreed. Responsible for local charges after arrival, including customs and terminal-related fees if applicable.

Party A Responsibilities

Arrange transportation to the named destination place confirmed in quotation or invoice.

Under standard DAP, Party A does not handle import customs clearance, import duties, taxes or unloading unless both parties agree otherwise in writing.

Party B Responsibilities

Provide accurate destination address, contact person and receiving requirements.

Arrange unloading at the named destination place.

Handle import customs clearance and destination compliance requirements.
✓
Pay import duties, taxes, customs fees and local destination charges.

Confirm whether the destination address can receive the shipment safely and legally.

When DAP Is Suitable

DAP is usually suitable when Party B wants Party A to arrange international transportation to a named destination place, but Party B can handle import clearance, duties, taxes and unloading after arrival.

If Party B wants Party A to include import duties and taxes, DDP may be more suitable. If Party B only wants delivery to a destination port, CFR or CIF may be discussed depending on the shipment method.
